Yafurula represents the first analog synthesizer I built. I had work with electronics and knew about synthesis, but I had never built one or knew how to. All I had made until then was to alter some toys and ‘circuit bending’ stuff.

At the first time it didn’t work well and I didn’t know why it was failing. When I fixed that error, another one appeared and so on. One night I finally could make it work, and sent a message to a friend (same friend that mastered this album) and told him ‘Ya furula!’ (what means ‘It works’ in a Spanish colloquial way), cause he knew I had been working a lot on it and I couldn’t find the error. Then we thought it was a funny name for a synthesizer series… Hence its name!

Yafurula surge con el primer sintetizador analógico de todos que construí. No tenía ni idea hasta el momento de cómo se hacían. Había trabajado con electrónica y entendía de síntesis, pero nunca me había puesto a construir alguno. Todo lo que había hecho hasta el momento era modificar juguetes y cosas de ‘circuit bending’.

Así que durante mucho tiempo no me funcionaba completamente y no encontraba el error. Cuando solucionaba un fallo, aparecía otro y así sucesivamente… Hasta que una noche logré hacerlo funcionar y le envié un mensaje a un amigo (el ingeniero que ha masterizado este álbum), y le dije ‘Ya furula!’, en referencia a que ya funcionaba, porque él sabía que había estado trabajando durante tiempo y no encontraba el error. Y pensamos que era un nombre con mucho gancho para una gran serie de súper sintes… y ahí se quedó la broma de los Yafurula Synths.
